Cori Ochoa
AERIAL INSTRUCTOR
Cori’s teaching style blends curiosity, courage, grace, and compassion. She focuses on helping adults discover their own strengths in the air, building confidence, body awareness, and a sense of accomplishment through consistent practice. Cori began practicing aerial in February 2018 at the age of 35 and has been teaching since the fall of 2021. Her classes are designed for adults of all levels, emphasizing individual expression, experimentation, and growth—without competition or comparison.
From her earliest years, Cori explored movement through dance, performing with the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble as a teen and training in ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical from ages 4–18. After college, she lost her connection to dance, but aerial reawakened that spark and allowed her to fully incorporate her best qualities: curiosity, courage, grace, and compassion. From her first candy cane on the silk, she was hooked—enamored not with height or skill alone, but with the art form itself.
Cori’s compassion extends to her students, recognizing the challenges and triumphs in every level of aerial practice. She believes every adult who enters the studio has the capacity to find their own strength and joy in the air. Coming from the structured, “cookie-cutter” world of 90s dance, she values the freedom, support, and celebration of individuality that aerial provides. Cori hopes every student leaves class feeling capable, empowered, and proud of their accomplishments.
In addition to teaching, Cori is also the designer of the studio’s website, bringing her creative and technical skills to support the aerial community online.
